These are a few of the most popular rudiments for beginning drummers. They are the rudiments that I learned more than 30 years ago with my first drum teacher. I learned the LONG ROLL first, then the 5 and 7 stroke rolls. I have not included the 5 and 7 stroke rolls here because I have found very little use for them in commercial music. However I do use the paradiddle much in fusion and funk.
