ONE FOOT WARMUPS

This is a typical practice session of mine. I'm concentrating on my feet in this practice. It takes me 1/2 hour to get from 140 BPM TRIPLET OR TRIPLET RUFFS to 190 BPM triplets and triplet RUFFS. You may need to start at a slower speed or you may be able to start at a faster speed. Just take it easy. I didn't learn this in one week. I've been practicing double bass seriously for the past 5 years.

You will also hear the hihat. I play a SHUFFLE rythm with my left hand on the closed hihat. This helps to keep the triplet ruffs TRIPLET RUFFS. In other words, the shuffle will not let me slip into 1/8th notes. You may have noticed that I slipped into 8th notes for one of the 190 practices. That can happen by accident when you are playing at such fast speeds. I have no goals for playing 1/16 notes at 200 BPM. I feel triplets more easily, so I would rather play double triplets at 200 bpm. If I can ever pull it off for one full minute, I will hit 1200 on the DRUMOMETER.
